Ohio: Anne L Meyers

Anne L. Meyers founded the law firm of Meyers, Roman, Friedberg & Lewis in 1995, and managed its growth from four to 25 attorneys. Although she transitioned management to her partners in 2011, Anne remains active in the firm and continues to specialize in representing small-to-medium-sized businesses, often as outside general counsel, and in business succession, start-up and new ventures, construction, and surety matters. Anne has an “AV” rating with Martindale Hubbell and has written and spoken extensively on a variety of construction, surety, legal, and business issues. She served as general counsel of CBIZ, Inc., a public company, and has owned interests in and served as an advisor to numerous for profit and non-profit businesses.

Anne participates in several professional and nonprofit organizations, including non-traditional educational programs, is a fellow of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Foundation and chaired its Rule of Law Program in 2012. She handles pro bono cases for Legal Aid Society clients and is a member of the Legal Aid Pro Bono Committee, former member of Cleveland Marshall College of Law’s Advisory Board and Capital University Law School’s Board of Counselors. In 2009, she received the prestigious Top 10 Women Business Owners of Northeast Ohio Award, given by the Cleveland chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners. For many years, Anne chaired and continues to participate in the American Jewish Committee (AJC) Cleveland Region’s Isaiah Award for Human Relations Committee. She is active in the Cleveland YWCA’s Open Table program and has enjoyed the many opportunities she has had to mentor and address classes in local charter schools as well as public schools. She has also managed a women’s clothing business dedicated to empowering dozens of women in India through teaching of work ethic and textile skills.

Anne is a proud member of the AJC National Board of Governors, the AJC Berlin Board, the Jacob Blaustein Institute Board, serves on several AJC National committees and has traveled extensively on missions around the world for AJC. She is a life member of ORT and recently had the pleasure of visiting ORT’s project at the Kfar Silver Youth Village in Israel.

Most important, she is the proud mother of three grown children, Asher, Isaac and Abby Stout (anxiously awaiting grandchildren…).
