ORT Programs in FSU


ORT began in St. Petersburg, Russia, in 1880.  In 1991, after an absence of seven decades, during the regime of the Soviet Union, ORT returned to Russia and now manages programs and community day schools in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Estonia, Moldova, Latvia, Lithuania, Georgia, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan, serving approximately 27,000 students in more than 50 institutions and centers in 40 locations, including 17 Jewish schools.
