ORT America Staff

Alex brings over 15 years of experience in nonprofit management, community building, and financial resource development. He joins us after 11 years at the UJA-Federation of New York, where he led grants management operations, philanthropic services, and fundraising campaigns. He holds master’s degrees in both Nonprofit Management and Hebrew and Judaic Studies from New York University.
Alex’s connection to Jewish communal life is deeply personal. Growing up in Odessa, Ukraine, he and his family immigrated to the U.S. in 2000. Settling in South Brooklyn, they found essential social services and a welcoming Jewish community. This experience inspired Alex to dedicate his career to strengthening Jewish life and ensuring others could access the same support and sense of belonging.

Heath has an MSW from Yeshiva University and a BS from the University of Maryland. He is married to Lisa and they have three children and two grandchildren.

While in Detroit, Nicole also planned and coordinated events for Star Trax Corporate Events, and served as a consultant for the Detroit chapter of Men’s American ORT - by providing supervising (formerly) American ORT’s annual Rub-a-Dub fundraiser from 2003-2005. In 2005, she served as the lead coordinator for the Rub-a-Dub event – the ORT America Michigan Region’s largest annual fundraiser until November of 2009, when she came on as the Regional Director for ORT. Nicole is mother to Max and Bella.

Anna Stein is the Chief Marketing Officer of ORT America, leading national efforts to raise awareness, inspire giving, and amplify the impact of ORT’s global mission. Since joining the organization in 2021, Anna has held roles in fundraising, resource development, and impact reporting—all focused on expanding access to quality Jewish education and supporting vulnerable communities around the world.
Anna’s passion for Jewish communal life is rooted in her own story. After emigrating from the Former Soviet Union in 1989, her family settled in Longmeadow, MA, where the local Jewish community played a key role in helping them build a new life. That experience continues to drive her belief in the power of philanthropy to transform lives.
Before stepping into her current role, Anna served as Director of Development at Belev Echad, supporting wounded IDF veterans, and at Temple Shaaray Tefila in Manhattan. She also led special events at Madison Square Boys & Girls Club and was Assistant Director at WIZO, helping women and children across Israel.
Anna holds a BA in Sociology from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and lives in Westchester County, NY.
